R&D — Roof Inspection
Thermographic Point Cloud Mapping for Roof Inspection
Funded by Ørsted and LIMAP with NYSTAR approval, this R&D project developed and validated a process for accurately mapping thermal imagery onto precise 3D laser point clouds — enabling exact moisture area measurement that goes beyond what traditional thermographic inspection can deliver. The result is more targeted remediation, accurate material takeoffs, reduced waste, and lower costs for building owners.
